Vocabulary--Units are completed independently over a 2-week span, with the last day of the second week being a test day. Parts of units are assigned in chunks, and students should be writing due dates for each section in their planners.

Ancient World History and Geography

Sixth grade covers ancient world history, with an emphasis in geography, beginning with the foundations of a successful civilization and ending with Ancient Rome. Students will also explore the process of studying history by asking compelling questions and finding sources to answer them.

Religion

The sixth grade students will work to strengthen their relationships with God through regular prayer exercises. They will also broaden their understandings of God's plan of revelation and salvation through a chronological study of the Old Testament as well as Christ's life as expressed through the Gospels. Students will also be working through the Theology of the Body program which explores how God created each human in his image. Classes will be centered around readings from Scripture and the Catechism as well as exploration of new prayer practices.
